Is your dry shampoo dangerous?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. The Daily Hair Company’s SELF-ABSORBED Dry Shampoo + Texture Spray is completely safe to use. Our special formula is benzene free, talc free, paraben free, sulphate free, SLS free, DMDM Hydantoin free, fragrance free, and non-aerosol. But this is an important topic worth discussing, so we’ve dedicated an entire page to it.
When should I use SELF-ABSORBED dry shampoo?
Our dry-shampoo is best used in two ways: on clean dry hair for instant texture, volume and oil prevention, and on greasy/oily/dirty hair to refresh, absorb grease, and reactivate flat locks.
What is SELF-ABSORBED dry shampoo made from?
SELF-ABSORBED's main grease-absorbing ingredient is tapioca root powder! It's gluten-free and a naturally derived starch! (also delicious as a pudding but that's a whole different thing)
Is SELF-ABSORBED dry shampoo tested on animals?
NO WAY! SELF-ABSORBED is only ever tested on Renee and her team.
Why isn't SELF-ABSORBED dry shampoo an aerosol?
There are a few reasons why we chose a spray over an aerosol.
- Aerosols are not travel-friendly
- Aerosols have toxic, cancer-causing ingredients (like benzene) and we believe products you put in your hair and on your skin should be free from anything that causes cancer.
- Aerosols waste so much product because the can is filled with lots of air. Not only does this mean you get less product in the can, but the large cans used in aerosols need more resources to produce and to ship.
- Aerosols are terrible for the environment because they discharge volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere.
What about powders?
Powders are the other alternative for dry shampoo and we aren’t big fans because they are messy and they tend to be quite heavy and ineffective.
How long will a bottle of SELF-ABSORBED last?
1 bottle of SELF-ABSORBED is known to last 3-5 months. Our long-haired friends who use SELF-ABSORBED almost daily say a bottle lasts around 3 months.
How does SELF-ABSORBED dry shampoo smell?
We searched far and wide to find the perfect combination of essential oils for this dry shampoo. SELF-ABSORBED smells like a refreshing champagne cocktail, with grapefruit, bergamot, eucalyptus and peppermint. It is so fresh and spa-like! But, because we use high-quality essential oils and not perfume, the scent fades once used. No stinky perfume lingering, but your "scalp smells" are neutralized.

My nozzle is jammed, what should I do?
Nozzle jams can happen when the bottle is not shaken very well before each use. We have a solution for this! Fill a bowl or sink with warm soapy water. Ensure the straw isn't completely blocked. If it is blocked, we recommend taking it off of the sprayer and clearing the blockage either with a pen or by rinsing it with warm water. Once this draw is clear, immerse the pump under the water and pump sprayer repeatedly until it feels as though the water is going through it quite easily. Repeat using clear warm water without soap. This should do the trick and have you set up for success to start dry shampooing again. Will SELF-ABSORBED work for all types and colours?
Yes! Our low-cast formula works for dark hair, too.
